2025 Election Notices

Who is Eligible to Vote

You may vote if:

  • You are a United States Citizen;
  • You are 18 years or older today;
  • You have lived in the municipality for 28 days before this election; and
  • You are registered to vote or are registering today.

The residence of a person is the place where the person’s habitation is fixed, without any present intent to move, and to which, when absent, the person intends to return. 

Any citizen who moves within this state later than 28 days before an election shall vote at his or her previous municipality or ward.

Any person convicted of treason, felony, or bribery is not allowed to vote unless his or her civil rights are restored.

How to Register to Vote

As of January 1, 2006, all municipalities in Wisconsin require voter registration prior to a person being allowed to vote.

Anyone wishing to vote in Wisconsin has four options to register:

  • Online - the fastest way
  • By Mail
    • Electronically fill out the Application for Voter Registration (EL-131), download the completed form, print it off, and mail it to your municipal or county clerk. Attach a copy of proof of residence. 
  •  In Person (prior to an election):
    • Register in the municipal clerk's office.
  • At the Polling Place on Election Day
    • You must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election.

How to Vote Absentee Ballot

Request Online: https://myvote.wi.gov/

Request by Mail:  Electronically fill out the Application for Absentee Ballot (EL-121), download the completed form, print off, and mail it to your municipal clerk along with a copy of the required photo identification.  The application must be received by the clerk no later than 5:00 PM on the Thursday before an election.

Request in Person in your Municipal Clerk's Office

  • All voted ballots must be returned to the municipal clerk so the clerk can deliver them to the proper polling place before the polls close on election day.  
  • The elector must also be registered
